Testimonials

Teacher Training at Blue Point Yoga Center not only taught me about the physical practice, philosophy, and anatomy of yoga, but it also helped me to develop the skills and confidence necessary to share all of these things with others. The training was physically challenging and intellectually rigorous, while at the same time relaxed, open, and inviting. I was amazed at how well the teachers encouraged trainees to cultivate their own unique voices as yoga teachers while also providing everyone with a solid foundation in the practice of teaching. Assignments throughout the training were both practical and engaging, and it was great to get detailed feedback on our teaching skills as we developed and grew within the program. I would highly recommend this training to anyone looking for an authentic and meaningful training experience.

As a hesitant student, Sara inspired me to explore yoga. I have a busy work schedule and some scheduling conflicts but I embarked upon a wonderful experience as a part of Sara’s yoga teacher training. Sara was a good fit for me as a teacher. She is engaging, precise, and anatomically based in her methods. She blends current theory of movement with the research about mindfulness. Sara helped me find a deeper practice of this ancient tradition with its many health benefits. All the participants were wonderful people. I so enjoyed this experience and highly recommend it.
-Robin

Doing training at Blue Point was a great balance of the topics I wanted to get out of my 200 hour teacher training. Significant time is spent not only on the study of sequencing and building classes, but on the anatomy underlying important poses, and how to guide students into poses safely with precise instructions. Sara brings with her not only years of experience as a yogi, but a wealth of expertise from her background as a doctor of anatomy. I feel I came out of the training with the confidence to put together class plans and enough teaching practice to begin instructing immediately.
-Sean

I completed the 200 hr RYT training at Blue Point in fall 2013, when Sara Doyle shared the teaching role with Sarah Trelease from Portland, OR. With Sarah Trelease far away much of the time, Sara Doyle was the glue that held the training program together. She was well-organized in her teaching sessions; very positive when coaching us as novice teachers; knowledgeable about anatomy, yoga and the business side of yoga; and simultaneously light-hearted and conscientious in her own teaching, a very appealing combination. I consider Sara to be my primary mentor as a teacher, and I am glad to have had the chance to learn from her, both during the RYT training and subsequently as a student in her classes.

Yin Yoga Workshop

Yin Yoga emphasizes the connective tissues through a relaxed practice of long, passive holds in specific postures. These asanas gently stretch and rehabilitate the connective tissues that form our joints, allowing us to maintain and restore joint flexibility. Not only does this bring balance to our more active yoga practice, but it also allows us space to drop the outward going activity of the mind-body and experience ourselves as we are in this moment, without an agenda. By creating space for softening both our physical body and our mental state, we move inward to examine how our daily habits are reflected in our lives and allow energy to be redirected in a more harmonious way. We can then strengthen our ability to widen our sphere of what sensations and feelings we believe are "acceptable" in both ourselves and others, which creates a calmer abidance in the face of internal and external stress.

Yin Yoga Workshop

Peel away the layers created by unbalanced habits of over-doing, over-efforting and over-achieving through Yin Yoga.
